This is no surprise for us since the same thing happened to the Nintendo DS Lite and DSi a couple of years back.
There's probably another 3DS shipment by now so there's no need to panic. Maybe if you run to the store fast enough you'll be able to glimpse one ;)

UPDATE: Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D
Posted by faraday | 10:27 AM | 3ds-games, metal-gear-solid, snake-eater-3d | 0 comments »Hideo Kojima announced at the Tokyo Game Show 2010 that fans should expect the Nintendo 3DS version of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater to debut on 2011. The game will still retain its title, and as of this writing, the 3DS veriosn is not much different from the original MGS title. We're not complaining though. It's a good step forward to getting more MGS franchise on Nintendo.
Until 2011, here are more screenshots of Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D.

The characters really are taller! It's quite a departure from earlier Animal Crossings game but it works, as noted by people who've seen the actual demo. Another departure is that players take the role of mayor in Animal Crossing 3DS. With the help of your secretary, you are tasked to make your town a better place to live. Expect to hear more about Animal Crossing 3DS in months to come!
Nintendogs + Cats for the 3DS is full of cute
Posted by faraday | 10:22 AM | 3ds-games, nintendogs-cats | 0 comments »We would be lying if we said that we didn't find Nintendogs for the original DS adorably cute. That's why we're extra giddy to find out that one of the featured games for the upcoming Nintendo 3DS is Nintendogs + Cats.
Nintendogs + Cats is basically the same game that we've come to love with the addition of a couple of features that would make interacting with your beloved pet more enjoyable. Using the 3DS camera, the game features facial-recognition technology that would allow your puppies to react based on your movements. Want a kiss from your dog? Lean in and it'll try to lick your face!
There are also more breeds to choose from and train plus there's the addition of cats although there are no clear word yet as to how cats would be put into play.

Posted by faraday | 9:43 AM | 3ds-games, 3ds-videos, star-fox-64-3d | 0 comments »One of the most anticipated games for the Nintendo 3DS since its launch is the remake of the classic Star Fox. Originally from the N64 gaming console, Star Fox 64 3D will feature the same shoot-em-up gameplay that won the hearts of fans years ago. There was actually a short playable demo of the game during E3 2010.
The top screen of the Nintendo 3DS will act as main display of Star Fox 64 3D while the bottom will serve as controls. Expect to use the analog nub, the D-pad, and the shoulder buttons as well for this game.
Witnesses of the demo can attest the Star Fox 64 is surely one of the games to look out for when the 3DS is released.
Capcom: No Nintendo 3DS Title Launch this Fiscal Year
Posted by faraday | 10:33 AM | 3ds-games, 3ds-news, resident-evil, revelations, street-fighter, super-street-fighter-iv-3d | 0 comments »If Capcom's previous announcement of Resident Evil: Revelations and Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition for the Nintendo 3DS riled you up, then prepare to be crushed.
A Q&A with an investor recently revealed that the game company will NOT be releasing any of those games this fiscal year. Development is underway though, the publisher assured, but the release will be a little late. No further reason was given as to why.
We're sure a little waiting won't hurt Capcom's sales but it would've been better if they can have a title out on the Nintendo 3DS' launch.
Resident Evil: Revelations for the Nintendo 3DS
Posted by faraday | 10:40 AM | 3ds-games, 3ds-trailers, 3ds-videos, nintendo-3ds, resident-evil, revelations | 0 comments »Survival horror fans are in for a treat when the Nintendo 3DS handheld gaming console finally comes. Along with the announcement, Capcom revealed their shot at the 3DS with Resident Evil: Revelations.
Revelations uses the same engine that powers other games such as Lost Planet 2 and Resident Evil 5. Simply put, this makes Revelations "graphical quality comparable to consoles." The trailer below is a good sample, but since it's not known if the secenes are in-engine or pre-rendered, we should all hold our horses.
Kid Icarus: Uprising might feature Online Multiplayer
Posted by faraday | 10:30 AM | 3ds-games, 3ds-news, kid-icarus, uprising | 0 comments »The head of Project Sora Masahiro Sakurai recently revealed that Kid Icarus: Uprising might include Kids Icarus, a multiplayer online version of the upcoming Nintendo 3DS game. According to the interview by GameMaster, Sakura said that the online capabilities are "being tested" and that there could be some versus play involved but "we can't go into detail." He is also quoted saying "There are a lot of capabilities that expand on what was in the DS that people are taking advantage of."
How would a Kid Icarus versus mode play out? Our guess is as good as yours. But if we are to choose who to leave the development to, we would hand it to none other than Sakurai.

Not much is known yet regarding the game's development, but we're hoping that it would be a straight port of the classic Ocarina of Time for the Nintendo 64. If you've played it before then you certainly know why. As much as we love Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks, Ocarina of Time has a better story and gameplay.
Here's a video featuring screenshots of what is believed to be The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D.
